Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 for embedded Systems was based upon the same core operating system as the non embedded version.

Activate the Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 Operating System by using the unique product key provided to you. Optional component: The  Microsoft iSCSI Software Target is an optional add-on to Windows Storage Server. 

Note: Configure Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 prior to installing the  Microsoft iSCSI Software Target. Reference the OEM Guide for configuration instructions. The "Factory Installation Prerequisites" and "Factory Installation Procedures" sections of the guide provide details for configuring Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 prior to installing the  Microsoft iSCSI Software Target.
